Bath Based Distance Learning Course for Advanced Students
Relatively new, having been first brought to the attention of U.K. amateur radio operators through RadCom in 2012 with the first course being run from 2011, BBADL, the Bath Based Distance Learning Course offers Advanced students an efficient and convenient way to home study for the Advanced Licence using a very well conceived and managed web-based training system.
Although the course has only been in operation for four years to date, statistics show that between 80 to 90 percent of students (Source: RSGB) who complete the 18 week long BBADL online course pass first time.
Using a combination of weekly quizzes, revision tasks and support from RSGB approved trainers who themselves have completed the RSGB’s “Train the Trainer” course, students have a selection of online features to use to enhance their learning experience by being able to quickly review lecture notes, complementary learning documents and worked answers as well as being able to communicate with fellow students and tutors using an integrated messaging system.
The BBADL has recently finished its enrollment for the 2015 course which is set to have students sitting their exams later in the year, either in Bath or at a local exam licencing center of their choosing.
