Ramblings from a G4 by Antony Turnbull G4CUS March 2008

As far as my operating has been concerned this past month has been dominated by three main events:

The BARTG RTTY Sprint contest produced 68 QSOs.
The CQWW RTTY WPX contest produced 252 QSOs.
The Dxpedition to Ducie Island (IOTA OC182) which so far has produced five contacts on different band/modes. I say so far because as I write this they are still going strong. The pile-ups produced by VP6DX have been huge to say the least! I wonder sometimes how the operators at their end can actually pick out any callsigns, even with the big splits they sometimes use. I have to congratulate them on a splendid job and their patience when dealing with the usual idiots who persist in calling during other people’s QSOs. I have worked them on 80mtr- SSB, 40mtr- SSB, 20mtr- SSB, 15mtr- SSB & CW. Nothing so far on the data modes unfortunately, but I am still hopeful.

DX countries worked during February include :-

Iraq, USA, Canada, Japan, Israel, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, Cape Verde, Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Mexico, Surinam, Dominican Republic, Peru, Algeria, Asiatic Russia, Belize, Indonesia, Cocos Island, Ducie Island, Mongolia, The Gambia, St. Barthelemy, Tunisia, Sri Lanka, Cuba and St. Lucia.
