The RSGB have been broadcasting GB2RS, it’s on-air news feed every week since 1955, with more and more amateur radio enthusiasts tuning in to stay up to date with the latest events and news. Fortunately there are further options for us now with Web technologies affording listeners with additional options to stay up to date via the Internet.

GB2RS on-air 40m

Simply tune to 7.070MHz every Sunday at 10am and listen from the comfort of your home using your favourite radio. While many amateurs from all over the World listen in to the on-air GB2RS news cast, there are alternative ways should you want them.

GB2RS via Podcast

If you wish to listen to the news on your computer, laptop or other mobile device, then using the Podcast service is a great idea. One advantage of listening to a Podcast is that you can listen to it at a later date, rather than in real-time as with the on-air version of the GB2RS news above. The data is ‘streamed’ to your device on-demand as and when you want it making it ideal for many listeners. The podcast service is very kindly provided to the amateur radio community by G4NJH whose personal site can be found at

You can subscribe to the service and find out more at or alternatively you can listen to the GB2RS feed at PodBean where you will not only be able to listen to the audio, but read the text along with it, all on one very handy page.

GB2RS via an RSS News Aggregator

The RSGB have RSS feeds that you can tap into and display on your computer at home, work or on your mobile device. The main RSGB RSS news feed can be found at the following URL,

Simply add this URL to an RSS news aggregator of your own choice. There are many free aggregators available for desktop PC’s and laptops, mobile devices, Macs and Linux. You may if you prefer, download a browser extension for Firefox, Chrome etc. and view feeds through your browser though a desktop version is often more convenient. Links to several news aggregators are below for your convenience. Please note that you use these at your own risk and our links to them are not an endorsement of them in any way. If you wish to find one yourself, simply search for “RSS aggregators” and use similar terms to find the many available.
