Brick’R’knowledge – Electronic Learning Bricks

Dave G8PUO of the Eastbourne Electronics and Radio Club sends through this interesting and exciting news for getting young creative people into electronics and amateur radio. The press release is as follows.

Encouraging and inspiring the young in radio and electronics has taken a forward leap thanks to the help of some excellent and innovative electronic bricks that hopefully will set the seed for our future inventors and designers.

Ideal for Radio and Electronics clubs in order to increase project building momentum, for all ages, and learning more about our fascinating hobby.

These are an exciting range of rugged electronic bricks that may be used to build a vast range of circuits and projects, from simple passive and active, to more advanced digital and Arduino based, right through to higher level radio communications and RF, 24 GHz.
Children from as young as 3 years (supervised), through to young adults and adult learning, are able to easily build an encouraging range of interesting projects.  The emphasis is on fun learning, no soldering and rewarding.

Brick’R’knowledge  offer complete sets, work books, and individual bricks, that are ideal for Pre-Schools, Schools, Colleges, Universities, Clubs, Children’s Activity Groups, Parties, Scouting, Youth Training Schemes, Electronic Engineering Experimentation, Tutoring,  Amateur Radio and Electronics Clubs.

The building blocks to electronics success.  Quantity discounts for UK Radio and Electronic Clubs.

EREC sends update to their evening meeting agenda

erec-logoDave G8PUO sent through this notice which regards to a change of evening agenda.  Antennas, Radio Control and Mick Senior Visit.

EREC’s planned Alford Slot evening is being rescheduled due to changes in the design through use of laser cutting. More details on this will follow.

We still plan to include antenna building, so should you wish to bring along any antennas/designs for discussion or testing, then please continue to do so.  Dan M0HOW is bringing his antenna analyser too.

With the expanding interest in Radio Control Quads (plus variants), we will also have a range of models and hopefully even get to do some flying too (pending WX).  Some vintage models will also be on display and a radio control pro flight simulator running for those whom wish to have a go!

As some of you maybe aware, we have been seeking to have a registered RSGB Examination Center so that we can start training courses at EREC.  The good news is that Mick Senior, G4EFO, will be visiting the club on Monday too,  in order to view both the St Luke’s Church rooms (during Monday daytime), and then the Eastbourne Sports Park (evening).   We look forward to meeting and welcoming Mick.
