Very strange but true – By John Heys G3BDQ

A few years ago I described some of my personal co-incidences in Vital Spark. Recently I came across some true facts surrounding the lives of two former United States Presidents, Abraham Lincoln and John F Kennedy.
I am sure you will find the following catalogue of surprising co-incidences that link both these characters almost ‘spooky’.

Lincoln and Kennedy were born 90 years apart, in 1839 and 1929.

Lincoln became President in 1861 and Kennedy was elected to that Office in 1961.

Lincoln employed a Chief Secretary named Kennedy and Kennedy had a Mr. Lincoln as his Secretary at the White House.

Secretary Kennedy strongly advised his President not to go to the theatre on that fateful Friday April 14th 1865, and Secretary Lincoln also strongly advised President Kennedy not to go to Dallas in 1963.

Oswald shot Kennedy from the upper floor of a warehouse and a man
named Booth shot Lincoln in a theatre and then ran to hide in a warehouse.

Lincoln’s assassin was Booth born in 1839 and Kennedy’s assassin Oswald was born in 1939.

Each assassination took place on a Friday in the presence of their wives.

Both Presidents were shot in the head from behind.

9.    Lincoln’s successor was President Andrew Johnson a Southern Democrat
born in 1808 and Kennedy’s successor was also a Southern Democrat
Lyndon Johnson born in 1908.

10.    Booth and Oswald were unlawfully killed before they could stand trial.

Mathematics is not my strong point but I am convinced that the probability
of all the ten co-incidences could be an astronomical number to one.
If someone wrote a novel which portrayed two US Presidents ending their
lives so co-incidentally he or she would be accused of writing fairy tales.
